1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They help the site remember things about your visit — like whether you've already accepted the cookie notice — so you don't have to repeat the same steps each time.
Cookies don't execute programs or carry viruses. They're text files, nothing more. On the Cognita website we use them for the site to function properly, to understand how people use the site, and to remember your preferences.
2. Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Always activeRequired for the site to work. These include cookies that store your cookie consent choice so we don't ask you again, and session security tokens. You cannot disable these without breaking site functionality.
Duration: Session / Up to 12 months
Analytics Cookies
OptionalHelp us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, how long people stay, and where they come from. This data is aggregated and anonymised. We use it to improve course pages and navigation.
Provider: Google Analytics (anonymised) · Duration: Up to 26 months
Marketing Cookies
OptionalUsed to understand the effectiveness of any advertising we run. These cookies may record which ad brought you to the site. We only use these if you agree, and we don't build advertising profiles for sale to third parties.
Providers: Meta Pixel, Google Ads (if active) · Duration: Up to 90 days
Preference Cookies
OptionalRemember settings you've chosen — for example, if you've dismissed a banner or set a display preference. Disabling these means the site won't remember your choices between visits.
