Cognita started in Chiang Mai in 2022, when a small group of engineers and instructors noticed the same pattern: people were finishing AI courses without the confidence to build anything on their own. The materials were often solid, but the structure didn't give learners enough time with the harder parts — debugging, reviewing someone else's approach, sitting with a problem that didn't have a clean answer.
We built our first course to fix that. It was a beginner Python track, run with eight people in a shared chat room and a weekly video call. We kept cohorts small on purpose. We wrote feedback by hand. The pace was slower than most courses, and the participants said that was the point.
Over the following two years we added the Model Building Workshop and the Long-Form Mentorship Course. All three still follow the same logic: clear scope, honest workload estimates, and enough contact with an instructor that your questions actually get addressed. We're based in Chiang Mai but the courses run online, so learners join from across Thailand and the wider region.

Standards we apply to every course, every cohort, without exception.
Up-to-Date Materials
Course content is reviewed every quarter. If a library or approach has changed meaningfully, we update the lessons before the next cohort starts.
Written Feedback on Projects
Every project submission receives a written review from an instructor. We explain what works, what to revisit, and why — not just a checklist result.
Data Privacy
Learner data is used only to run and improve the courses. We don't share personal information with third parties for marketing. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Cohort Size Limits
We cap enrolment on each run so that instructors can respond to every learner's work without queue delays. When a cohort fills, we open the next one rather than over-enrol.
Realistic Scope Descriptions
Before each course page we publish weekly time expectations, assumed prior knowledge, and what the course does not cover. We'd rather someone choose correctly than struggle with a wrong fit.
Responsive Support
Questions sent to our course channel are answered within one business day. For the Mentorship Course, learners also have a direct line to their assigned mentor between scheduled sessions.
AI Development Education in Thailand — What We Focus On
AI development as a field moves quickly, but the underlying skills that let you work in it don't change as fast as the headlines suggest. Core Python, data structures, model evaluation, understanding what a loss function is actually doing — these are the foundations that let someone keep up when the landscape shifts. Cognita builds its courses around those foundations, not around whichever framework happened to be popular at the time of writing.
Our learners are typically working professionals or recent graduates in Thailand and across Southeast Asia who want to move their technical work in a more AI-oriented direction. They're not looking for a shortcut. They want a structured path with enough depth to actually understand what they're building — and enough flexibility to fit it around a job or existing study.
Online AI education in Thailand has grown significantly over the past few years, but most offerings sit at one of two extremes: very shallow introductions that stop before anything interesting, or intensive bootcamps that assume you can dedicate 40 hours a week. Cognita sits deliberately in the space between. Courses run at a steady, sustainable pace, with instructor contact built into the design rather than bolted on as an optional extra.
Chiang Mai has a strong community of developers, designers, and independent technical workers — it's the city we're based in, and the culture here shapes how we think about building things carefully and on your own terms. That translates into how we write our courses: methodical, well-annotated, and designed so that a learner working alone at 10pm still has enough context to make progress.
